Cosmo DeNicola delivered closing remarks at the Furness High School's First Annual Freshman Commitment to Graduation Ceremony.
Furness High School provides a safe and diverse school community in which all students will achieve their highest potential. Their mission is to provide the social and academic tools in a safe, orderly, nurturing and supportive environment that empowers students to use multicultural competency to become productive citizens in our global society. By providing all students a challenging learning environment that aligns with our Furnesss High School vision, they encourage high expectations for academic success, college and career readiness, and positive relationships between students and staff.
The event emcee was Ms. Jamie Smyth, Assistant Principal at Furness High School. The program included welcoming remarks by Student Council Secretary Kenny Lee, while Student Council President Sophia Simms delivered the Keynote Speech.
Parents and Freshman recited the pledges confirming their commitment to graduate. This was followed by the presentation of the Graduation Keys to Life.
"I was so proud to address this fine group of young students. Their diversity is a clear reflection of America. It's inspiring," stated Cosmo DeNicola.
Refreshments were served and entertainment was supplied by a student music group.
