Rome, Italy - The Pope began his speech by expressing his gratitude to the institution, which also promotes “comprehensive development”, especially of “the poor, refugees, immigrants” and also of “growing number of people affected by war and violence.”

“Through these diverse and commendable initiatives, you continue to help Peter’s Successors grow numerous local churches and care for so many disadvantaged people, in response to the trust the Lord placed in the Apostle. For all the generosity shown, I express my sincere gratitude.”

“I am so proud to be a Stewards of St Peter and the work of our Papal Foundation.” The opportunity to interact with his Holiness Pope Francis is a blessing beyond words,” stated DeNicola Family Foundation Chairman, Cosmo DeNicola.

“The Papal Foundation’s programs foster a spiritual bond and fraternal connection with people from different cultures, languages and regions who receive assistance.”

The Papal Foundation announced it will donate $14.7 million in grants, scholarships and humanitarian aid this year to the service of the Pope and the Catholic Church worldwide.
