The Humpty Dumpty Institute (HDI) is pleased to announce that as a result of a large donation of medical equipment by the China Construction Bank (CCB) New York Branch we were able arrange for 10,000 protective masks, 2,000 face shields, and 200 infra-red thermometers distributed to community health centers and its frontline workers in Newark and Jersey City on May 11, 2020.
This crucial medical equipment will help protect the heroic medical workers at these community health centers and allow them to continue to serve their communities safely.
Dr. Pamela Clarke, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Newark Community Health Center (NCHC) explained that the clinic network is one of the largest providers of comprehensive primary care services for uninsured and medically underserved populations in one of the country’s most populated areas. NCHC served 51,609 patients in Essex County in 2019.
Joan Dublin, President and CEO of the Metropolitan Family Health Network (MFHN) noted that its mission is to meet the needs of the underserved in the community regardless of their ability to pay. This donation allows us to achieve our mission and deliver care as safely as possible – we truly appreciate it.
