Philadelphia, PA - The DeNicola Family Foundation recent pledge has created the COPD and Emphysema Research Fund at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. The fund will provide for the expansion of COPD & Emphysema research within the department of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery. With the gift, Temple will continue to provide an exceptional education to compassionate, motivated and service minded medical students, boldly purse research that will transform standards of care and continue to support and engage with the North Philadelphia community.
The DeNicola Family Foundation donated a farm to table teaching garden for A Meaningful Purpose at Reed’s Farm to use at the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City. Reed’s Farm located in Egg Harbor Township NJ, will use farm to table teaching garden for their workforce programming and their summer camp. Installation includes hardscaping ground cover, construction of raised cedar-wood beds with addition of soil and compost for food production.
The DeNicola Family Foundation has made a gift to support research at the Greenberg Bladder Cancer Institute (GBCI) at Johns Hopkins. The contribution will be used under the direction of Deputy Director of the GBCI, Noah M. Hahn, MD and Professor of Urology and Oncology, Max Cates, MD to assist in expediting bladder cancer laboratory research findings into improved patient outcomes.

The DeNicola Family Foundation teamed up with children’s author John Butler for a story time at Mercy Neighborhood Ministries with his latest book “Chase and the Case of the Missing Jersey”. John Butler, known as Cousin John, is a sports journalist and educator who has turned his passion for writing into a series of children’s books. The Chase Books are filled with adventure and feature African American characters that teach children valuable life lessons.
The DeNicola Family Foundation donated 200 fans to ABC Men Inc in Philadelphia. At Agape International Church 200 seniors, people with disabilities and families in need will be a little cooler during these hot summer days.

Philadelphia, PA - Philadelphia’s Cancer Who? is reopening their 3400 Richmond St. Cancer Care Center in Philadelphia after dealing with COVID closures and mandates. The Center was founded in 2013 by Al & Marjani Harris after Cancer touched their family. The organization provides a range of free services including companionship during treatments, support groups, homework studies for children, transportation, and social events. A highlight is when the patient “rings the Centers bell” marking the end of treatments.
