Fort Washington, PA - Clothes, personal items and hygiene products are sometimes a burden for the homeless. These things cannot be left outside because they can be easily stolen or ruined. In efforts to provide a means of warmth during the winter months and something to carry their personal items in, the Cosmo Cares team created a Duffel Bag Kit. The Duffel Bag Kit comprised of a blanket, vinyl pillow, umbrella, ear buds and hygiene products. The Duffle Bags were delivered to Bethesda Project’s Our Brothers Place located in center city.

Bethesda Project serves 1,400 individuals experiencing homelessness each year at 16 sites throughout Philadelphia. Any help is greatly appreciated during this pandemic. They accept donations of money, food, clothing and also have an Amazon Wish List. They are accepting cooked food delivered to their sites as well. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner for the people that stay there. Most of their financial resources have been utilized during COVID. They have to pay for a cleaning company to come to their locations everyday to disinfect.

“So, join our Cosmo Cares team by donating to people who need our help, stated Natalie Scarantino Sadler, Project Manager. Our World needs more Compassion and Kindness.”

Philadelphia, PA - The Cosmo Cares team celebrated Thanksgiving early by donating 45 Thanksgiving dinners to families in need this Holiday season. The beneficiary were the St. Martin de Porres Catholic School students from Pre-Kindergarten to 8thGrade. Mrs. Kelly Lanza, School Principal was instrumental in arranging the distribution of the Holiday dinners that included: turkey, gravy, stuffing, green beans, corn and cranberry sauce. Purchased from the Flourtown Acme. The Acme provided a contribution in the form of a discount.

The school is located in one of the most economically depressed and crime-ridden areas of North Philadelphia, St. Martin de Porres School has served poor and minority families for over 100 years under the guidance of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Ninety-nine percent of the School’s 500 students are African American, and many come from families living below the poverty line. For the children of these neighborhoods, an education holds the greatest hope for their future.

The Cosmo Cares team felt blessed and thankful for the privilege to help.
