New York, NY - The Humpty Dumpty Institute (HDI) works around the world to inform and foster dialogue amongst critical stakeholders on key global issues. We do this through our programs with the U.S. Congress, the U.S. Department of State, and the United Nations, engaging young people, supporting cultural diplomacy, and working on humanitarian programs.
During the September 15, 2022, meeting of HDI’s Board of Directors in New York City, Mr. John Sandy was unanimously elected by his fellow Directors to succeed Dr. Al Khalafalla as Chair of HDI’s Board of Directors. The Board also unanimously elected Morgan DeNicola to serve as Vice Chair. At the request of the Board, Dr. Khalafalla accepted an additional term as a member of the Board of Directors.
John Sandy is a civic and business leader in the State of Idaho and Washington D.C. Mr. Sandy served as Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator James Risch (R-ID) from 2009 until 2020 and was Senator Risch’s senior policy advisor. Prior to joining Senator Risch at the U.S. Senate, Mr. Sandy was Chief of Staff to the Governor of Idaho and served in the Idaho State Senate. In addition, Mr. Sandy is one of the leading businessmen and political leaders in Idaho. He was the Chairman of the Idaho Republican Party, Chairman of the Idaho Bond Bank, Board Member of Idaho Housing and Finance Association and Co-owner of the Trout Co-Hydroelectric Plant, and the Owner-Manager of Habitat Holdings LLC. Mr. Sandy currently serves on the U.S. Global leadership Coalition Advisory Committee. Mr. Sandy said upon accepting the Chairmanship, “I look forward to building on the progress HDI has achieved in creating a truly bipartisan organization focused on dialogue. I am also excited about increasing HDI’s programming in the Rocky Mountain states and sharing the culture of Idaho and the West with countries worldwide.”
Vice Chair Morgan DeNicola is the Humanitarian Program Manager for the Cosmo DeNicola Companies (CDC). CDC is a portfolio of businesses ranging from Technology, Healthcare, Publishing, Professional Football Agency and Media. In 2021 Morgan was elected Executive Director of the newly formed DeNicola Family Foundation, a global-oriented 501 (C) (3). Morgan’s role incorporates her four passions of global health, humanitarian recognition, conservation, and cultural diplomacy.
The Board and Staff of the Humpty Dumpty Institute wish to express their profound appreciation to Dr. Al Khalafalla for his service as Chair from 2015 until 2022. During his two-term tenure, Dr. Khalafalla expanded HDI’s activities, including dialogue with the most senior officials in countries in the Middle East and Africa. The Board also wished to express gratitude to Dr. Khalafalla for agreeing to remain a Director.
