Ronald McDonald House to benefit from new Cosmo Pizza

Dec 6, 2016 9:22:00 AM / by Natalie Scarantino

2016 has been a great year for Cosmo DeNicola, after winning 4 Arena Football League Conference Championships the 5th time was the charm.  The Philadelphia Soul won the 2016 Arena Bowl Championship on August 26th, 2016 beating the Arizona Rattlers, which was nationally televised on ESPN.

“Everyone has fantasies; hitting the winning shot, draining a hole in one, entering the hall of fame. Mine has been to be a Champion and contribute. This year my dream came true,” stated Cosmo.

Little did Cosmo know that the confetti and champagne showers were only the beginning of a year of fun and recognition. This December, Goombas Pizzaria, of Colmar, Pennsylvania, honored Cosmo DeNicola and his World Championship Philadelphia Soul by naming a pizza after him. The Special pizza has been named the Cosmo. The Cosmo consists of mozzarella and Swiss cheese, fried onions, garlic and seeded long hot peppers.

Proud to be recognized, Cosmo and Goombas teamed up to create a fundraising opportunity to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House was a favorite charity of both Nicky Merlino, of Goombas Pizzaria, and Cosmo DeNicola, whom has ties back to the, formally named, Eagles Fly for Leukemia. The first Ronald McDonald House was founded in 1974, to help support families of seriously ill children by creating a community of comfort and hope. 90% of the Ronald McDonald House funding comes from donors, to help fund their 359 Ronald McDonald houses.

“How awesome is it to contribute to a great cause that connects football and pizza.”

People will love the Cosmo, and they will be proud of how the proceeds will be used to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.

Cosmo and Goombas Pizzaria will join forces Saturday, January 28th to officially launch the Cosmo Pizza. Representatives from the Ronald McDonald house will be in attendance, alongside Philadelphia Soulmates, Cosmo DeNicola and Goombas Pizzaria.
