As part of our Christmas Program the DeNicola Family Foundation was honored to donate books and board games for the students at Samuel Gompers Elementary School in Philadelphia.
The festive event included a special visit from Santa Claus and a live reading by author Cousin John who shared his book Sage Does It All from his Chase Book Collection. Each child received a copy of Cousin John’s books along with a board game to take home supporting literacy learning and family engagement beyond the classroom.
“Our Christmas Program is about creating meaningful moments while supporting education and joy for children” said Morgan DeNicola, Executive Director of the DeNicola Family Foundation.
“Seeing the student’s excitement during the reading and their smiles as they received their gifts truly captured the spirit of the season” said Natalie Scarantino Sadler, Program Director of the DeNicola Family Foundation.
Author John Butler added “Reading Sage Does It All to the students and knowing each child could take a book home was incredibly special. Encouraging a love of reading through storytelling is something I am deeply passionate about.”
